Job Overview

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and collaborative Drafter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing drawings, preparing cost estimates, and developing shop/fabrication drawings while ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with technical requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed shop drawings and fabrication drawings for window wall and or Railing systems.
  • Review architectural and engineering drawings to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Develop system details for window wall, curtain wall, and related assemblies.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and suppliers to ensure alignment with project requirements.
  • Ensure drawings meet project specifications, performance criteria, and applicable codes (OBC, AAMA, ASTM).
  • Revise and update drawings based on RFIs, site conditions, and design changes.
  • Maintain organized drawing logs, revision control, and documentation.
  • Support value engineering (VE) by proposing efficient and cost-effective design solutions.
  • Provide drawing clarification and support to production and installation teams.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in window wall or curtain wall drafting (required)
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (or similar drafting software)
  • Strong understanding of glazing systems, materials, and construction methods
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings
  • Knowledge of Ontario Building Code (OBC) and relevant industry standards
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines Legally authorized to work in Canada.

Schedule and Compensation
  • Monday to Friday, 8:00 to 17:00
  • Overtime paid in accordance with applicable legislation.
  • CA$60,000 – CA$75,000 per year (based on experience).
