Drafter
Job Overview
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and collaborative Drafter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing drawings, preparing cost estimates, and developing shop/fabrication drawings while ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with technical requirements.
Responsibilities
- Develop architectural shop drawings and fabrication drawings in coordination with technical project requirements.
- Track, update, and manage drawings as new addendums are issued.
- Provide ideas or details for value engineering purposes.
- Analyze architectural drawings, engineering plans, and project specifications to determine project scope and required materials.
- Perform quantity take-offs for materials, labor, equipment, and resources.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals for bidding, and present them clearly to clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Monitor project costs against estimates, identify deviations, and recommend corrective actions to maintain budgets.
- Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure accuracy in estimates and project planning.
- Coordinate with the Engineering team to provide Bill of Materials (BOM) and Material Take-Offs (MTO) in a timely manner for upcoming projects.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or other drafting software.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills for quantity take-offs and cost estimating.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in drawings and documentation.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration mindset.
